Outreach Workshops, Commissions, and Partnerships

To fundraise and keep the shed running, we take on commissions from the local community, schools, and charity organizations. We can also host workshops for community groups and care homes. All money raised goes back into the running of the project.

If you would like to commission the shed or would like to partner with us, please contact Emily, by emailing emily.willey@ageukbexley.org.uk.

Outreach Woodworking Workshops

Our group can deliver outreach woodworking workshops to local community groups, care homes and schools. Sessions can be tailored to suit the needs of the group and will be co-designed directly with the shed’s outreach team.

Past projects have included building wooden footstalls with young people at the Exchange, creating and decorating wooden dragons for 4–5-year-olds at a local primary school and building garden items with care home residents living with dementia.

Our aim is to provide low-cost activities for the local community and the groups we are working with. We would however require the partnering organisation to provide the materials needed to run the workshop.

If you have a project in mind, please get in touch!

Commissions

Many of our shed members are from trade backgrounds or experienced wood workers. They can take on the challenge of most bespoke wood working projects! Previous commissions include:

  • North West Kent Countryside Partnership- Bird boxes, nature trail lecterns and woodland signs.

  • Dartford Little Library- Book Swap

  • Christ Church Erith- Collection boxes and wood crosses

  • Members of the public- Planters, tables, rabbit hutches and much more!

If you would like to enquire about commissioning the shed for a project, please contact the project officer on the email listed above.

To get an idea of what design you would like, please send any inspiration images and sizes along with your enquiry. Please note items are collection only from our workshop. Items can take up to 8 weeks to complete depending on ongoing shed projects.

Have another idea?

If you have any other ideas for partnerships with our project, please get in touch with the Shed Manager.
